N° 44 crushed bloom wraparound accessory - yuki white - L
A singular botanical study featuring a hand-sculpted flower, hand-sewn onto a length of grosgrain ribbon. Made from preserved vintage silk kimonos and reclaimed archival textiles.
Hand-crushed silk flowers with creased, crumpled petals. Stitched with pure silk thread, the piece reveals subtle variations in tone, natural slubs, and raw-edge finishes.
I work without industrial factory molds or patterns, cutting and shaping every petal one by one. This slow, labor-intensive work carries forward a family tradition of giving damaged historical textiles new life.
These preserved textiles exist in small, unrepeatable lengths. Some fabrics yield a limited run; others yield only a single flower, and once a specific fabric is used, it can never be replaced. Subtle shifts in grain, aged patina, and organic drape ensure that every piece remains singular.
Details & Craft
-
Process: Each petal is cut, hand-sculpted, and hand-stitched one by one in my New York Studio; zero machine stamping.
-
Finish: Raw edge detailing throughout, celebrating the natural fraying and softening of aging silk.
-
Construction: Flowers are hand-sewn onto grosgrain ribbon; the strand can be worn as a necklace (wrap once or twice depending on length), tied into hair, or wrapped around as a belt.
Dimensions
-
Total length: 70"
- Each flower measures 6" x 6" (size L)
Edition: 1/1 Singular Object
Material Care
Aged wear and subtle shifts in texture are part of the silk's history, not a defect. Slight fraying over time is a natural characteristic of raw-edge vintage textiles. Spot clean only when necessary, and gently reshape the petals by hand as needed.
