The hand-stitched silk kimono panels are meticulously assembled from repurposed scraps and entirely hand-stitched, honoring traditional craftsmanship and zero-waste design.
Hand-painted yuzen-zome 友禅染 (a traditional Japanese dyeing technique using rice paste as a resist to create intricate, hand-painted patterns) silk kurotomesode kimono. This method allows for precise detailing and vibrant color gradations, featuring a sakura pattern along the wearer's right sleeve. The original kimono seams and motifs are preserved, honoring the garment's history and craftsmanship. Zero-waste design through patchwork techniques.
