made to order

Considered Objects’ Made to Order service extends an opportunity to acquire a Considered Objects’ piece by selecting from existing garments and archival pieces in standard sizes ranging from XS-XXL.  These garments offer personalization options, including interchangeable textiles, for a unique and personalized combination tailored to the wearer’s preferences.  Please note that these garments are meticulously handmade based on existing patterns; alterations are not possible.

A Considered Objects’ Made to Order garment is created in a size nearest to your measurements.  Each piece is meticulously handmade, with production times typically ranging from 7-11 weeks, depending on the level of handwork and detail involved.  In some cases, we can expedite the process for a shorter timeframe, but this may incur a rush fee.

Please keep in mind that Made-to-Order items are non-returnable due to their bespoke nature. To confirm your order, we require full payment upfront. If you require any modifications, such as the fit or design, please consider exploring our Bespoke Service.

custom service

Considered Objects’ Custom service offers a unique opportunity to acquire a one-of-a-kind creation meticulously tailored to your specific preferences and measurements.

design consultation

The process begins with a private consultation, which can be conducted through email, phone calls, or in-person meetings. During these sessions, collaborative discussions and design concept development take place, along with estimated budget assessments. You will have the chance to explore the Considered Objects’ material archive and experiment with different garment combinations.

Following our initial meeting, if you’d like to move forward, we will assist you in determining your Bespoke requirements and provide you with a quote and timeline. Virtual appointments are encouraged to refine ideas, share imagery, and explore options within specified budgets and timelines. Additional meetings can be arranged for in-studio visits or to refine design concepts.

next steps

Upon order confirmation, a 50% deposit is required, with the remaining balance due upon delivery of the pieces(s). After securing your custom garment(s) with a deposit, we will establish a timeline and design proposal for its creation. You will be invited to our studio for precise measurements, with guidance for those outside New York City.

The timeframe for crafting Custom garments typically ranges from 3-7 months, depending on factors such as garment styles, the extent of handwork, and textile choices. Specific details are determined upon order confirmation.

final fittings

Each Custom garment includes two fitting sessions at the studio. During the first fitting, garments are adjusted as needed. You will be invited back once all alterations have been made to ensure a perfect fit. Additional fittings or alterations can be arranged for an additional fee.  For international clients, the option to have your Bespoke garment shipped to your location is available.

personalization

We take great care in the smallest details and provide personalization options for our garments.  This includes delicately hand-sewing sentimental images, personal messages, and names directly onto our garments.
