edition N° 1, 1 of 15
Vintage kimono bolt fabric. 100% silk.
Inspired by the intricacies of nature intertwined with the subtle moments of pause and patience.
The pattern is cut from an ivory 'Tanmono' 反物, a roll of cloth to make a kimono. It features a Japanese plum blossom, 'Ume' 梅 pattern. They are the first flowers to bloom in spring and known as the flower of peace. A protective charm against evil, they also represent longevity, renewal, and perseverance.
Detailed with a center front placket with shell buttons, front patch pockets, back yoke with an inverted pleat, side paneling, single-button cuffs, and selective raw edge finishes.
Every piece is one of a kind and hand-numbered. All wear and idiosyncrasies are unique to the textile. Handcrafted by artisans in New York City.
